Two championships together, I think that qualifies.

Chaplin is my second favorite comedy actor, after Nicolas Cage, but as a pure cinematic artist he's superior because he is still one of the greatest directors of all time. Check out The Gold Rush and City Lights, and, though I haven't seen it yet, it's considered a masterpiece, The Great Dictator.

Dude, Commando is like the most hilariously dumb film ever made.

But that hasn't stopped me from placing it as #1 on my "Favorite Films" list just today (it was risky and I know I'll probably have a change of heart but I've loved it for as long as I can remember and have seen it probably over 100 times - literally - and I don't know if there are actually any titles more deserving). It's fucking awesome and you HAVE to watch it.

I'll check out Demolition Man; seems pretty cool. Been hearing about it for a while, actually.

Yeah, I'm thinking of making one once I finish up John Cazale's filmography so I could have actors represented somehow (I just have to see Dog Day Afternoon), and I may also wait until I watch Steve McQueen's films (or just any director that I could finish in just a few days), too, because he's done so little and I could use some extra reinforcement or whatever the fuck. I've actually started making the list and it's on Private, will probably finish & publish in a week or so.

Kobayashi only made like 5 films (counting Human Condition as one) and I've only seen 2, so I'll check more of his films out. I've seen 5 Miyazaki films so far and the impressions are great. Park I've only seen Oldboy, which I loved from, so I'll check out the other Vengeance films and some of his others like JSA or Thirst.

I've been meaning to watch some of Shion Sono's films for a while now, but they're so damn hard to get a hold of. I'll admit I haven't scoured the internet completely for them like I have done in the past, but they're pretty obscure from my understanding. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I've been meaning to watch Offret for the longest time now, it's supposed to be one of his best. Nostalghia seems really hard to get hold of. It's not on Netflix streaming or DVD, and I can't find it anywhere else. It was on Youtube a while back, before I watched any of Tarkovsky's films, actually. I skipped it because I wanted to watch Andrei Rublev or Stalker first, but I don't think it's on there anymore. It's on DailyMotion somewhere in two parts, but the problem with that site is that the thing on the bottom when you watch videos never goes away, so it blocks subtitles and detracts from the experience.

Yeah, I'll check out A Prophet. Everyone I've heard from that's seen it has said that it's awesome, so I'll give it a go.

I definitely will. I've been meaning to watch both Hunger and Shame for a while by now. I think I'll start with Hunger, just because that one came out first. His new project, 12 Years a Slave looks interesting, as well.

Thanks for the votes!

The Thin Red Line is currently my favorite war film, but Apocalypse Now is much in need of a re-watch. I haven't seen it in years.

nevermind.
